Girl Cave

Hello Lovelies!
I want to share ideas for our new house with y’all!  I’m so excited about decorating, and I wish it was happening faster than it is. I have so many big ideas! If only I could wave my magic wand and have everything be set up as perfectly as all the ideas in my head!  Today’s blog post is all about my “Girl Cave.” Yes, my husband is letting me have a girl cave, instead of the usual “man cave.” The girl cave is in exchange for a bigger tv for him in the living room. This also means he will never leave the couch, haha!   Here is my inspiration board.

The upstairs of our cute little house has a loft, bathroom, and master bedroom.  I call it the master suite!  We chose to put our bed in the loft, so now I have big plans for what is actually the master bedroom.  It is going to be my dressing room, TV room, and office.  I am hunting for an antique solid wood dresser that looks a little rough.  I want to paint it with mint green chalk paint.   Below are a couple pictures I pulled off Pinterest for my inspiration.

My in-laws gave us a gorgeous solid wood desk.  This is why I want to find a dresser I can paint. I do not want to have to match the wood stains or have two dark wood pieces competing with each other.  I plan to have a comfy chair of some sort too, but I haven’t decided what I want yet.  Maybe y’all can give me an idea for a chair?  I would love your opinion!

My dad and I our hopefully going to build a big floor mirror similar to the one below.  I also got this idea off Pinterest.  Don’t you just love Pinterest?

A few years ago, my dad also made me jewelry holders.  Recently, we updated them with gold spray paint and new hooks. Here is a sneak peek, but I plan to blog about them once I hang them and fill them with jewelry.

My master suite will be gray, mint, wood, white fur, and gold accessories.  I can’t wait to get it pulled together and eventually show y’all the final outcome!  Most of my ideas are pinned to my farmhouse Pinterest board if you’re interested in seeing more of my inspirations!

Confessional Friday

This week was a whirlwind with my work trip.  I had a blast but worked long days, and I am completely exhausted.  I have been planning away and next month’s posts are already in the works. Hope you are as excited as I am!

It’s Friday; let’s confess!  I promised to write some confessional Friday post in honor of Leslie from “A Blonde Ambition.” Let’s get started! I hope y’all laugh out loud and enjoy these moments with me.

  1. While packing for my trip I was getting in my jewelry box.  The room I keep it in is not unpacked, so my jewelry box currently sits on top of other boxes. Also, the ceiling is slanted on that side of the room.  This resulted in me bumping head… BUT I confess this happens every time I get in my jewelry box.  You would think by now I would have learned my lesson or at least moved the jewelry box to a new spot.
  2. I confess I left for the airport 25 minutes later than planned. I confess I hit snooze too many time.  No one’s alarm should go off at 3:30am.  I confess I made it to the gate just in time to board my plane.  I won!  I confess I own this Hello Kitty alarm clock.
  3. I confess that on Wednesday I literally worked 8:40 am to 8:30 pm. I went back to my hotel in Nashville and was getting ready for bed.  I opened up my contact case to take my contacts out only to be confused at why there were contacts still in the case.  I confess I had already taken them out. I was in the room alone but I totally looked around to make sure nobody saw that.   Blonde moment maybe but let’s just go with the exhaustion thing ;)
  4. I confess that I’m addicted to dry shampoo.  I may use it too many days in a row.  So far, this is my favorite brand.  I have tried several.  Do y’all have a favorite?
  5. I have the best photographer in the world.  I confess it’s my little sister.  I also confess that she will be super mad I posted this picture from the last photo shoot, but I just love it.

Happy Friday Lovelies!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

Shoes & a Cactus

Hi Lovelies,
I hope you are as excited as I am about my blog! This first fashion post is all about how I styled my outfit with bold accessories and 2 different types of shoes.   I was torn between the two types of shoes because both give the outfit a different feel.  One gives me a more casual look while the other makes me feel ready to conquer a night out with the girls.

“I have always loved fashion because it’s a great way to express your mood. And I’m definitely a shoe lover.  The right pair of shoes can change the feel of an outfit, and even change how a woman feels about herself.  A woman can wear confidence on her feet with a high stiletto, or slip into weekend comfort with a soft ballet flat.” Fergie

The gold sandals pictured here make this outfit have an everyday festival feel.   I could wear this running errands, to a concert or going to lunch with friends.

With the nude wedges I have a more confident dressed up feel.  This would be a great look to wear for a girl’s night out on the town.  Just picture me sipping on a margarita with the girls. ;)

This midi ring came in my last Rockbox.  I am completely obsessed with this moon and star ring.  It goes perfectly with my desert theme in this picture.

This statement necklace also came in my last Rockbox.  It is the Loren Hope Sylvia necklace in seafoam.  This necklace goes with everything and is gorgeous.
