Hello Friends!
Chicago is a city I fell in love with
back on a college trip for my apparel studies class in November 2006.
Now 10 years later one of my best friends started a new career in
Chicago, so I went to visit her. Chicago was still as magical as I
remembered it. I just love the vibe of the city. The hustle and bustle of
people on Michigan Avenue, gorgeous architecture, and of course the shopping.
The food was amazing too!
Song represents our Pitch Perfect marathon :)
I put together a list of my favorite
places there. On your next trip to Chicago make sure to check out a few
of them and let me know what you think.
Lincoln Park was so fun! We
walked for miles people watching and talking. We walked along the edge of
the lake until we got the perfect view of the city. I could have
just sat there for hours looking at the view.
I walked over 5 miles in these booties! They are so perfect for daily wear.
Another favorite activity was going
on the First Lady of Chicago architecture boat tour. GORGEOUS is an
understatement. Being on the river in-between all the skyscrapers was
breath taking. Learning about the architecture design was very
educational. Here are a few of my favorite pics.
Of course shopping on Michigan Ave. was
fabulous. We shopped till we dropped and then we got Starbucks.
Found these OTK boots at Nordstrom Rack for $67 I was so pumped!
This poncho is from The Limited I also got this cardigan from The Limited
Now for the food:
RPM Italian is amazing! I loved
getting dressed up for a fun night out. The atmosphere and the food was
just perfect. The only thing that could have made this night even sweeter
would have been to accidentally run into Giuliana and Bill Rancic! We ate so
much food and everything tasted so good. If you ever go make sure you get
the prime beef meatballs on the appetizer menu and try the Chocolate Torta
dessert both were delicious. We also tried the truffled garlic bread,
prosciutto tortelloni, and potato gnocchi. Definitely cannot wait to go
back!
Cindy’s on the Rooftop-I felt like I
was in a greenhouse. The curved glass roof opened up to a gorgeous
balcony. The wood accents, mason jars, and the fabulous bar added to the
atmosphere. We missed the kitchen being open for lunch so we just
had their signature cocktails and chilled until it was time to head to the boat
tour. Check out this view! So cool seeing The Bean from all the way
up here too.
Beatrix: Best brunch EVER!
Another fun spot decorated with lots of natural elements including wood and
ferns. Loved the mimosas, but you know that’s one of my favorite drinks.
I ate the lemon pancakes. Can I just say they were the best thing I have eaten
since my wedding cake. They were super fluffy and drizzled with
lemon syrup. I seriously wish I could go back every Sunday to
eat them. Ha!
The New Romantic top from Impressions
Big Star Tacos: We ate here one night and I met some of Libby’s friends. This was another awesome hang out spot. So popular we had to wait over an hour for a table and this place had TONS of tables. The majority of the seating was outside. It has lots of heat lamps for the cool nights. Big doors lead into a small indoor space with a huge bar. They are known for having great margaritas and I would have to agree they were pretty fab. They have lots of fun tacos to choose from. I tried the Taco De Panza, Taco De Papas Con Rajas, and Taco Pollo. All were super good, but my favorite was the Taco De Papas Con Rajas.
I had so much fun hanging out with Libby, meeting all her friends and checking out all her favorite
spots. She always knows how to find the best places to hang
out. I cannot wait to plan my next trip to visit here.
