It's here! The biggest shopping day of the year! I linked some of my favorite sale finds below along with a few fun facts about Black Friday.
Do you do all of your shopping on Black Friday? I have worked every Black Friday for the past 11 years, so I have never done much shopping on the big day but working is always crazy and fun.
Here are some fun facts I found on usnews.com:
-Back in the 1960s, Black Friday first got its name. Account books were kept using pen and ink. The day's sales helped stores move from red (loss) to black (profit).
-Americans spend more time shopping on Thanksgiving weekend than they do visiting Disney's hottest spots.
-More people are injured or killed on Black Friday than by sharks. It's crazy to think about that!
-Three most popular things purchased are TV's, Movies and Pajama's.
Let’s talk about this weather we've had lately! It has been so warm here in Arkansas. I’m loving the weather so much, but this week it finally started to feel like fall. This means sweater weather and blanket scarves will be my go to pieces to wear. I really hope this means we will have a warm winter like last year. With my luck, we will have a ton of snow. Anyway, I want to share with y’all some of my favorite fall looks. Let me know which one is your favorite!
Chicago is a city I fell in love with
back on a college trip for my apparel studies class in November 2006.
Now 10 years later one of my best friends started a new career in
Chicago, so I went to visit her. Chicago was still as magical as I
remembered it. I just love the vibe of the city. The hustle and bustle of
people on Michigan Avenue, gorgeous architecture, and of course the shopping.
The food was amazing too!
Song represents our Pitch Perfect marathon :)
I put together a list of my favorite
places there. On your next trip to Chicago make sure to check out a few
of them and let me know what you think.
The Bean
Lincoln Park was so fun! We
walked for miles people watching and talking. We walked along the edge of
the lake until we got the perfect view of the city. I could have
just sat there for hours looking at the view.
I walked over 5 miles in these booties! They are so perfect for daily wear.
Another favorite activity was going
on the First Lady of Chicago architecture boat tour. GORGEOUS is an
understatement. Being on the river in-between all the skyscrapers was
breath taking. Learning about the architecture design was very
educational. Here are a few of my favorite pics.
RPM Italian is amazing! I loved
getting dressed up for a fun night out. The atmosphere and the food was
just perfect. The only thing that could have made this night even sweeter
would have been to accidentally run into Giuliana and Bill Rancic! We ate so
much food and everything tasted so good. If you ever go make sure you get
the prime beef meatballs on the appetizer menu and try the Chocolate Torta
dessert both were delicious. We also tried the truffled garlic bread,
prosciutto tortelloni, and potato gnocchi. Definitely cannot wait to go
back!
The Chocolate Torta is melt in your mouth amazing!
Cindy’s on the Rooftop-I felt like I
was in a greenhouse. The curved glass roof opened up to a gorgeous
balcony. The wood accents, mason jars, and the fabulous bar added to the
atmosphere. We missed the kitchen being open for lunch so we just
had their signature cocktails and chilled until it was time to head to the boat
tour. Check out this view! So cool seeing The Bean from all the way
up here too.

Beatrix: Best brunch EVER!
Another fun spot decorated with lots of natural elements including wood and
ferns. Loved the mimosas, but you know that’s one of my favorite drinks.
I ate the lemon pancakes. Can I just say they were the best thing I have eaten
since my wedding cake. They were super fluffy and drizzled with
lemon syrup. I seriously wish I could go back every Sunday to
eat them. Ha!
Big Star Tacos: We ate here one night and I met some of Libby’s friends. This was another awesome hang out spot. So popular we had to wait over an hour for a table and this place had TONS of tables. The majority of the seating was outside. It has lots of heat lamps for the cool nights. Big doors lead into a small indoor space with a huge bar. They are known for having great margaritas and I would have to agree they were pretty fab. They have lots of fun tacos to choose from. I tried the Taco De Panza, Taco De Papas Con Rajas, and Taco Pollo. All were super good, but my favorite was the Taco De Papas Con Rajas.
I had so much fun hanging out with Libby, meeting all her friends and checking out all her favorite
spots. She always knows how to find the best places to hang
out. I cannot wait to plan my next trip to visit here.
Until next time… I will be over here dreaming about Chicago.
Bomber jackets are back with a bang!
They are a big trend this fall coming in solid, prints, and fun textures.
I have seen several floral print jackets that I love. When I saw this
blush fur bomber jacket I knew I had to wear it and style it! I mean my favorite
color is pink and who doesn’t love fur?!
So I styled it 3 ways for y’all. I
had so much fun planning these looks.
First, I dressed the jacket up by
wearing this burgundy mock neck dress and my favorite booties. I love
blush and burgundy paired together. It is definitely one of my favorite fall
combos.
Next, I wanted to create a fun and
edgy casual look. I paired the jacket with a graphic tee and leopard
kicks. Let’s be real-this shirt is so my life. I think my job title
should be changed to Store Manager Therapist ha!
