DIY Entertainment Center

Hello Lovelies!

I have been wanting to share this with ya'll for awhile now! As most of you know, we moved to a new town last summer.  When we moved, we got rid of all our old furniture. We made it our mission to find good solid wood pieces we could use for a lifetime.  During this search, I got really frustrated with trying to find a piece big enough to hold our TV in the living room.

I came across Catherine's (@catherinegraceblog) blog post about how she and her husband built a sidebar for their house.  I fell in love with the piece they built together and showed it to my husband.   We called my dad (he is a handyman to have around) and started planning the entertainment center.

Here is a picture of the piece Catherine and her husband built.  Please go check her blog out and read about how they built this gorgeous sidebar!  Catherine Grace Blog

Isn't it absolutely beautiful?!!!

Dad, Hubby and I went to Lowe's and bought some furniture wood.   We cut the pieces to frame out the structure and decided to build it 6 feet long!  (That was not the original size we had chosen)

Next we started the staining process.
Dad and I sanded the whole piece then put the first coat of stain on.

A few days later we used steel wool on the whole piece before applying the second coat of stain.

Then came the fun part, adding all the details!  I ordered hairpin legs on Etsy and found pulls at Hobby Lobby to make the doors look like a bunch of drawers.

Here is the final look all put together in our house.
This project did take longer than planned but was worth the extra time!
I'm so in love with how it turned out! Thank you Catherine for the inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love Leigh
