Rose Quartz and Serenity

Hello Lovelies,

Hope y'all had a great week!  My first week at my new job has been fabulous.  It was definitely the change I needed but didn't know I needed.  Last weekend I collaborated with Versona and put together some outfits featuring the Pantone color of the year for 2016. For the first time ever we have 2 colors representing the color of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity.  Pantone described them as a "blend of warmer and cooler colors reflecting connection and wellness as well as soothing sense of order and peace."   I am having fun wearing the Rose Quartz color this winter.  Its such a great color to wear as a neutral.  It adds a little to every outfit but not too much!

Here I mixed Rose Quartz and Serenity together to complete my look.  I paired this pink crochet-back sweater with light wash AE skinnies. The necklace, clutch and shoes are all from Versona also.

This gorgeous blue split back topnecklace, blazer are from Versona. I am wearing  917 skinny jeans from The Limited. The booties are my favorite Chinese Laundry boots called Unleashed.

2015 Recap

Here's to a great first year on Instagram! 2015 was definitely one for the record books. I had a lot of ups and downs, but I wouldn't change any of it! My new year's resolution for 2014 was to finally suck it up and start the blog I always wanted!

In January 2015, I did my first fashion photo shoot in my buffalo check poncho.

In February I did my first style challenge with Shannon @shannonsa #floralfunfriday! Then in March I did my first monthly challenge with Katy @wearwhatwhere (animal print) I just love them both and their inspirational challenges they host.

And who can forget the Lily for Target craze in April 2015?! Brittany @brittrake12 and I were texting all day and reading the hashtags on Instagram. Then we planned our first blog collaboration.

I also turned 30 in April and celebrated with some of my closest friends.

In May 2015, my hubby graduated with accounting degree. Then in June 2015, I left a job I loved so we could move back to our home town. We both started new jobs. I reconnected with old friends and made new friends!

I met Ali in real life and she has become one of my closest friends.

I started to get serious about building my own blog and planned out my first post! (Photo credits to my sister) On August 10 2015, my first blog post Shoes and a Cactus was published!

From there, I hosted the September style challenges with Katy @wearwhatwhere, Terri @iamterrib, Vanessa @vanessabenefiel, and Nicole @whatnicolewore. I loved it and getting to know these ladies!

Also in September, one of my picture hit over 1K likes! I was in complete shock!

I planned more blog posts and photo shoots. My friend Grace kindly took some amazing photos!

Then, I met Mandy and the gang from @shopzynia. They are the sweetest and have the best accessories!!

In October 2015, I went on a trip with my hubby, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, where I rode roller coasters against my will, but still had fun.

Then we started building our entertainment center and painting furniture so our house would finally feel like home! Just wait, the entertainment center is amazing and was inspired by Catherine @catherinegraceblog. It's coming to the blog this month! You don't want to miss this one!

November and December 2015 were a blur from working a lot. Exhausted!! I did collaborate with Ali from @arkansasupcycled I love how talented she is!

Makalya @stylemakalya sent me encouraging texts and we have been working on a collaboration for 2016!
We cant wait to share with yall!

Here is a look at some of my favorites from 2015.  Which one is your favorite?

In the end, I won a couple gift cards from some Instagram posts and that was pretty awesome.

All in all, the good out weighed the bad in 2015. I can't wait to see what 2016 brings! I have a couple collaborations planned, and I hope you'll come along for the ride with me! Here's to 2016 and starting a new job in a few weeks!

XOXO,
Love Leigh
