How I Tie My Blanket Scarves

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you have a fabulous Friday!  I have been asked several times to post how I tie my blanket scarf, so I put together a little tutorial for you.  My sister even had me make a video for you ladies. The wind was definitely not working with me during this photo shoot.  I will show you the steps for my favorite way to tie a square blanket scarf and a rectangular one.  I hope this helps you with wearing your favorite blanket scarf!

Zara Square Blanket Scarf (from last year)
1. Hold your blanket scarf out in a square.
2. Fold in half to make a triangle.
3. Roll the top down once or twice depending on how long you want it to hang.
4. Flip it around so the roll faces you.
5. Wrap around your neck and tuck the ends under the triangle!

Zyania Leopard Rectangular Blanket Scarf (only $19.99)
1. Now let's try the rectangular scarf in one of my favorite prints!
2. Let the scarf drape natural from holding it at one of the corners.
3. Grab in two places and place around neck.
(sometimes I wear it simple like this to show off the scarf)
4. Wrap and fluff!  I like uneven ends hanging down.

Have a fun weekend and wear your favorite blanket scarf!

Love Leigh

Finest Fringe

Fringe!! Fringe has already been a huge trend this year, and it's continuing to be my favorite for fall.

Fringe dates back to the 1920's. However, I find myself wearing fringe fashion trends from the 1970's with lots of leather and suede.  I love the free spirited look, and the movement of the fringe as you wear it.  Neutral colors are by far my favorite color pallet for fringe including different tones of brown and black.  I own several items with fringe, and mix and match how I wear them.  Today its most popular to wear fringe on your clutches, bags, booties, jackets, overlays, dresses, and skirts.

Everywhere I go I see fringe.  I fell in love with this fringe jacket from Impressions by Blu Pepper.  I paired  it with a simple black sheath dress from The Limited and my favorite knee-high boots by Steve Madden.

I had so much fun at this photo shoot I hope you enjoy these pictures!

I hope you all have a blessed week!

Buffalo, Gingham, Friends and Downtown

Hello Lovelies,

I had so much fun with this buffalo check and gingham outfit.   This outfit will definitely be on repeat all season long.  A college friend I have reconnected with since my move met me for a day of exploring downtown.  It was a gorgeous fall day! A couple other friends met up with us and joined in the fun. We found many cool places to hang out.  There are so many old buildings with unique architecture here and an old train. We decided to have some fun with the camera.  I would have to say this girls' day out was one of the most fun days since the move!  Hope you enjoy our photo shoot! (Photography by Grace Dickson)

2015 Fall Trends

Hello Lovelies,

It finally feels like fall around here!  Especially once the sun sets and the cool crisp air takes over.  It has me dreaming about fall fashion.  I have done some research and made a couple of inspiration boards for you.

Above I created the 2015 fall color story.  I need more Dried Herb, Stormy Weather and Oak Bluff in my life.  I like these colors because they are subtle and will pair well with many prints and textures.

There are lots of 70’s inspired textures and prints again this year.  Fringe is still the must have texture for clothing, bags and shoes.  Oversized knit sweaters are a must have in every closet.  Some other trends to look for this fall are dark winter florals with teal and red, long line blazers, bows, and fur collars.   Knee high boots, flare jeans, oversized clutches, capes and duster coats are back too!

Can’t wait to see everyone’s fall fashions this year and post about many of the prints and textures above.

XOXO,
Love Leigh

Thank YOU! #confessionalfridays

So shocked and overwhelmed with the response I got to this picture.  Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for making my day and enjoying what I love to do!  I confess I threw this together and took the picture in about 10 mins.  I wasn’t even satisfied with the final picture but I went with it and I am so glad that I did.  Thank you!!!!  #confessionalfridays
